FOCUS has a content that focuses on usability and meaningfulness and enables more women to have the opportunity to educate themselves as they can study in places and times that suit their life situationIn version 16.2. which was released in early January 2020, FOCUS main character, Maria and her world were introduced. Maria represents our primary target group and will be the one the participants get to follow through the education. To enable the participants active participation, we have introduced an avatar to represent the participant in the education. The goal is that, through the story of Maria and her surroundings, we should be able to offer meaningful and useful content that enables work within all four literacy practices in the Resource Model and where the participants have the opportunity to take as a starting point their linguistic, sociocultural and literacy-related experiences. In FOCUS 18, the participant gets to follow the lives of Maria and her friends in the village of Altamayo and the surrounding area. Currently, all parts except Pachawasi have been updated. In future versions of FOCUS, this location will also be updated. The goal is for the entire FOCUS to be updated to Marias world.FOCUS is developed to be used on tablets and the education works without internet. The application continuously tracks the level of knowledge of the participant and adapts the education accordingly. Each participants progress is also visualized for facilitators and administrators in our administrative system, DispurseAdmin. The facilitator synchronizes the participants progress using our app DispurseSynch which enables local synchronization in places without internet access.Structure in FOCUSFOCUS is built around different work areas, which are symbolized by different places in the map. At the "Crossroads" the participant works on learning to handle a tablet and to hold a pen. On the way to "Senderos de osos", the participant works with the vowels and the text type personal letter. In Altamayo, Marias home village, the participant works with a selection of consonants and the text type recipe. At the lake in Altamayo, the participant works with the text type textmessage. In the village of Huaqua, the participant works with the text type form. One place in the education is "Senderos de osos" This place contains a personal module where we want the participant to have the opportunity to get an overview of their learning and their path in the education. Here, the participant can choose what they want to do and they can use several different resources such as a talking keyboard, which means that when you press a key, the sound of the letters is heard, as well as exercises that gives them the opportunity to practice writing text messages, applications or filling in their personal ID- card. At this location, the participant gets an overview of how far they have progressed in the education and can choose whether they want to continue the training by pressing further on the map or stay a while longer and choose from all the available resources. Each work area in FOCUS has a common part where you work together with Maria and an individual part where you work together with the teacher Julia. The common part focuses on creating a joint understanding of the current work area. In the individual part, which consists of modules, the participant gets to show and test their knowledge in order to progress. To enable individual adaptation, the participant can choose which path the participant wants to take.
